It's Wednesday !

Confession:  I'm very much looking forward to spin class tonight...even though I will probably be doing nothing but spinning on low resistance for the entirety of the class in order to not aggravate this aggravating injury.  Mostly because I get to see Meghan but also because I'm hoping that the instructor found a way to get "Sissy That Walk" into the rotation.  That would pretty much make my week. And speaking of confession, it's that time of the week again !

Vodka and Soda

I'm pretty sure if this wasn't a short week, I would have figured out a way to MAKE it a short week.  The frequency in which "bad days" at work are increasing to "bad weeks" is just way too much for this girl right now.  My ability to handle stupid and annoying has reached its limit.

I had my performance review at work (I mentioned it yesterday) and while I'm trying to take it with a grain of salt, mostly I'm just throwing my middle fingers up and moving on with life.

(This will be me soon)

I would really love to wake up one day and not hurt.  I would love to be able to go on a run and not go "well, that's gonna hurt later...or now." It would be awesome if I could get over this wall instead of running into it again...and again...and again...

I have no food in my apartments.  I've also run out of M&M's which is actually worse for me than not having real food.

I'm still in relatively good spirits though which is kind of a big deal for me.  Outside of work I get to hang out with awesome people who make the bad stuff not so bad.  Which is kick ass because it makes me not care about stupid people.

So in summation, This:

And this:

One more day people and then BRING ON THE 3 DAY WEEKEND !!  Have anything you need to get out ? I wanna hear it !

Wednesday Recap

Good afternoon everyone ! I've been battling writers block all morning trying to figure out what to tell you about yesterday.  I know I don't HAVE to blog everyday (I usually try and take the weekends off for fun !) but I also know that if I start slacking now, I'll soon abandon this and that would just make me sad.  Please bear with me while this post may not be as awesome as some of my others.

Yesterday was spin class and hot tub.  Yesterday I was just perpetually 15 minutes late to everything (so I just stopped caring at that point) including spin class.  My alter-ego, Awkward Girl, made an appearance as the first 2 bikes I got on were broken.  Thankfully Meghan had saved me one that stayed open even after they started.  I modified the workout to only what I could do and stayed around 65-75% resistance so as not to make my legs hate me any more than they already did. I stayed away from the isolations and sprinting which I felt was, overall, a smart move on my part.  I still got a pretty good workout in so that was definitely a win.

I'm sorry if you've fallen asleep already.  It wasn't nearly as interesting as last week's post about spin class.  I will say that I'll be heading back to the hot tub tonight though because after a half hour last night, my legs are feeling exponentially better. Spending some quality time with the stick today as well is also helping. Since I have my trainer tomorrow, today is going to be a rest day (or as I call them "off days").  For tomorrow, I was thinking of putting together a post about my use of music while I run, including my playlist.

I only came up with the idea because I was inspired by Meghan's post.  Everyone should go check it out. She links to this pretty cool website (that I will be spending way more time on that I should) that helps match songs to cadence.  Her blog is pretty cool in general so you should go over and say hi.

Is there anything you guys want to read about ? As much as I'm keeping this for me as a record of what (and more importantly how) I'm doing, I'm always open to suggestions ! Honestly this blog wouldn't really be what it is without Alyssa's help so please feel free to share ideas :)

Thanks for reading !

Boots & Pants & Sail

Spin class was last night ! Normally we have a group of 4 of us that go on Wednesdays (including this awesome girl - her blog updates are super cool !) but there's a run from RRO tonight so plans were adjusted. Same instructor, different room, WAY more people. I feel sufficiently cross trained as my legs are feeling just the right amount of sore today [Enter The Stick, my best friend while sitting at my desk for 7 hours today].

Let me quickly share a story that will hopefully make you smile. The instructor, Matt, has a set playlist he uses, with some variations, every week. The majority of the time during spin class, all that goes through my head now (thank you, Brian) is:

The music that plays during our 45 minute sweat session is not my cup of tea but it gets the job done.  Last night, towards the end of class, I believe my resistance is on about 80% at this point and we just got done with seated climbs.  "Sail" by AWOLNATION is the next song in the rotation.  Let me pause the story, so for those of you who have not seen "Sail Cat," please stop what you're doing and watch this:

I almost fell off my bike from laughing so hard.  Thanks to Alyssa, forevermore, when I hear "Sail" that cat will be the only thing I think of, and now you will too. You're welcome.

I also have to make an addendum to my previous goals.  Due to some mis-budgeting on my part, I won't have the moolah to participate in the June 14th Race for the Cure 5K.  Sad face, but a friend let me know about one on July 26th.  I'm upset, yes, because I desperately want to get back into the race scene; I want the adrenaline and the excitement. But this will allow me to work a little harder and give myself a solid "I trained and tried" time.  I keep telling myself it will be here before I know it.

Short run from the Raleigh Running Outfitters store tonight with Amy from Adidas. I'm looking forward to it because I've been told that she may actually have some shoes in my size to try this time ! Check back later tonight for the stats and/or stories from the run.
